The Leonardo da Vinci Painter and Architect Galleries extend your immersion into the artist’s world! Included in your admission ticket.
The ground floor gallery, dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci the painter, plunges you into the heart of his paintings and drawings. In an immersive audiovisual show, you experience Leonardo’s entire painted œuvre, projected in XXL format onto the walls and ceiling. Observe how his preparatory drawings are superimposed onto his paintings. Perspective lines, smiles, gazes, hands, drapery, sfumato and the blue-tinged horizons of the landscapes all intertwine in a poetic and fascinating dance.
On the first floor, Leonardo’s architectural work is revealed in five sections: mathematics and geometry in space; civil architecture; military architecture; religious architecture; and ephemeral architecture, which showcases the special effects with which he amazed the French court.
At the end of the visit, a multimedia room is entirely dedicated to the fascinating Ideal City of Romorantin, imagined by Leonardo da Vinci. Using 3D modelling, explore the artist’s visionary insights and journey into the heart of his project.
