Amazing castle and gardens showing the art and work of genius Leonardo. The castle itself is gorgeous and the surrounding gardens make the experience complete.
We came to Amboise specifically to visit the places of Leonardo da Vinci and it did not disappoint. His chateau and gardens were amazing and I was so thrilled to see his bedroom and workshop. The additional experiences also provided a holistic view of his art and inventions. I have seen his work in other exhibits in London and seeing where he lived tied everything together.
A wonderful and historical museum, châteaux, and park, well worth the visit. While there were plenty of people around, it never felt crowded, and seeing so many of Da Vinci's inventions bright to life was a lot of fun. The park felt very peaceful and intimate. Highly recommended!
Very cool place. Large gardens with working models of some of his inventions. Made the history nerd in me very happy.
Brilliant place to visit especially with children. The interior of the palace is so well preserved, interesting and very educational for children. Outside in the grounds are models of da Vinci's inventions for the children to explore. Great day out.
Amazing seeing where Da Vinci lived and worked. Well worth 20E entry.
We visited as part of a group and just loved walking around this country house. Seeing his studio and work space was fascinating but it was the models of his machines which was awsome. Larger working versions of these amazings inventions can then be seen in the gardens, check out the tank. The gardens are green and tranquil and as you leave the house there is a nice cafe and outside seating area where we had icecream. After your visit do walk into town as Amboise is really a lovely place to visit with plenty of places to eat and small independent shops. A walk along the river is also very pleasant.
The place is magical. The kids loved the trail and going through the activity sheet. We spend there around 2+ hours and loved the gardens/park and the galleries. You can learn a lot in here and experience a little - great activity for both adults and kids. The house/castle was ledd of an interest - especially as we live in London and saw a tons of those. We did not wait in line but when we left there was quite a queue.
