On-site exhibitions
For 45 years, Leonardo studies water: he explores it in all its forms and movements, from rivers to vortices, in order to understand its laws and better master its force. A true visionary, he already imagines how it can be collected, transported, distributed and used for the benefit of mankind.
Organised into six thematic areas, the exhibition highlights the many hydraulic and civil engineering projects conceived by the artist: pumps, Archimedes’ screws, mills, canals, locks, drainage systems, bridges, paddle boats.
It also presents his projects for the management of rivers and territories carried out in Italy as well as in the Loire Valley. Drawings and models provide an educational approach to the principles of fluid dynamics while revealing Leonardo’s scientific rigour and technical ingenuity.
