Do you know Mathurine?
Famous at Le Clos Lucé, she ruled the kitchen at the chateau, and, in the great hearth, cooked up dishes that were mainly vegetarian for the Master and his guests.
Leonardo’s affection for his faithful and devoted servant is shown by the gift he left her in his will: a luxurious coat in black fabric, trimmed with leather.
Mathurine, Leonardo da Vinci’s servant and cook, will open the doors of Le Clos Lucé to you. Let yourselves be carried away by the history of this place and its legends – here Leonardo da Vinci spent the last three years of his life.
