Château du Clos Lucé

The Château du Clos Lucé is very concerned about the quality of the welcome that we offer when visitors come to our site, and we try to do everything to ensure that visitors are completely satisfied with their visit to the residence and the park, and that their experience is unique and unforgettable.

Together with around thirty other sites in the Loire Valley and in partnership with the Comité Départemental du Tourisme de Touraine (Départemental Tourism Committee: Tourism in Touraine), the Château du Clos Lucé is committed to a common quality control project which is recognised by the State. A quality charter has been signed by 18 major sites in the Loire Valley to promote excellence.

This promotion of excellence, begun in 2008, is designed to improve the standard of welcome and facilities in the tourist sites, enabling them to obtain the “Qualité Tourisme”^TM (Quality Tourism) label, issued by the Ministère du Tourisme (French Ministry of Tourism).

Before the visit:
- Distribution of comprehensive documents for the general public
- Precise and up-to-date information on our internet site
- Efficient and courteous telephone service
- Rapid and acurate treatment of e-mails, letters and group bookings
- Easy and well-signed parking
- A protected environment

Entering the site:
- The entrance to the site is visible and welcoming
- Displays are informative
- Staff are available and attentive, taking care in welcoming and guiding visitors
- The ticket office is adequate for the number of visitors arriving at the site
- Toilets and baby-changing facilities are clean and inspected
- The site offers extra facilities appropriate to the clients’ needs (catering, shop, children’s area, picnic area, etc)
- The site offers at least 3 different events each year

During the visit:
- Information on the visit(s) are clearly displayed at reception
- A guide and map of the visit is given to visitors (11 languages)
- Guided visits are available if booked in advance
- Written commentaries are checked and legible
- Technological media are clean and in good condition
- The comfort and safety of the visitor are assured at every point
